    We have just completely gone through this one. As the "EQ", Tape Monitor, and Record switches do not respond to the normal, simple cleaning on these ADC's, all three control "push" switches removed, disassembled, contacts individually burnished and completely cleaned with solvent for trouble-free service. This is a time consuming process, but the best way to insure performance. We injected both channels with 1kHz sine waves, and monitored switch performance on an oscilloscope with no visible issues after switch re-build. All fader LED's function. Very rare, high end stereo digital delay from API. Unit delays signal to add depth and spatial effect to sound. Can either be used on main front channel speakers or even better on the rear speakers for the "Live" effect. Unfortunately this one has one side lower in volume and distorts out of one of the outputs. Fix or use for parts. We have cleaned the controls and tested. Great effect. Cosmetically also in great shape. Solid real Walnut wood panels look nice. Made in the USA and very well built. Semi- "WORLD AC POWER" as it will operate at 50 / 60 Hz AC. Unit measures 14.75" in width x 10.25" deep x 4.5" high and weighs 9 lbs unpacked.

THE famous and VERY sought after, Expander / Enhancer! Just about every audiophile system has or should have one of these included in the signal chain! They really brighten up you sound and recordings making them come Alive! It covers all three bands of the audio spectrum, Lows - Mids – Highs, set at 200 Hz and 4 kHz filter points. The expander can be positioned Pre or Post in the audio signal chain. Expansion is infinitely variable from 0-50% and the transition level can be varied by any amount 0-100. The Gain change readout ranges from -20db to +12db. This thing has a variable Dynamic Range of 101-115dBv! Frequency response range of 20Hz-20,000Hz. The series II also features a very important feature that the series I doesn't. A Bypass switch. Maximum input / output voltage of 6 volts so it can even work in a professional sound system. Is also rack mountable with optional rack ears (not included). Unit looks GREAT (essentially NEW) and sounds great! Linear slide controls have non-original knobs by Pioneer installed.  Measures standard rack width of 17" wide x 1.75" (1 rack space) high x 9.5" deep and weighs only 5 lbs unpacked. It was then cleaned inside and out, then polished to look great. Only issue cosmetically is some scuffing on the left, side panel of the face (not visible from front)

Only issue cosmetically is a minor scuff on the top edge and a minor cigarette burn to the top vinyl (neither particularly distracting).

While we get email 'Thank-You' notes from a good amount of our customers, it's rare that a single model gets so many. The JVC SEA-10 is one of those units that pretty much every one that's purchased one has called or emailed to express how happy they were with it, and it seems like it would be a 'sleeper' unit. They really are fun to use, they are easy to use and they get the job done. Great design, build quality with no-excuse sonic quality and very easy to use. The JVC SEA-10, 5 / Pseudo-7-band "combined" stereo, graphic EQ. Combining the faders into stereo units, as opposed to separate left and right is so much easier to utilize for most users. One of the best built EQ's we had the pleasure to work on internally.

Unit was disassembled extensively for restoration / reconditioning. All toggle switches painstakingly 'triple' cleaned. Linear faders still clean and retain their 'smooth' feel. Display level pot cleaned extensively. While the original pilot lamps was working, we replaced it with a fresh unit. International 'World AC Power' selector set to correct voltage for North America. We then tested both channels with a test tone and O-scope, analyzing both channels with and without each independent effect. It was then cleaned inside and out, then polished to near new look.

ü We have completely gone through this unit cleaning everything including all switches, controls and contacts (especially internally). Extensive cleaning of unit internally.

ü  Everything was cleaned inside and out including all switches, controls and contacts. Cleaned and re-lubed all control shafts.

ü Internal AC 'mains' fuse pulled, tabs burnished, and checked for correct value.

ü RCA I/O jacks had their solder joints inspected for minute cracks (utilizing 10x jewelers loop)

ü RCA I/O jacks cleaned of surface corrosion.

 ü No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent!

ü Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously for 48+ hours. You will not be disappointed.

Very impressive and classy looking Phase Linear 1000 'Series Two' Dynamic Expansion / Auto-Correlator. Brushed aluminum face with matching knobs. If it weren't a 'consignment' I would probably be keeping it for my personal 'Phase' rack. From the Phase Linear 1000-2 users manual;
“Proper use of your Phase Linear 1000 will allow you to reproduce music with less noise and greater dynamic range than previously thought possible. The Phase Linear 1000 is a dynamic range recovery system….Recording studios and record processing companies employ a number of “necessarily evil” techniques brought about by the state of the recording art. Taken together, these techniques may be described as processes which serve to limit and restrict the dynamic range of recorded material. Unfortunately, their use is necessary in order to put the tremendous range of live music onto the surface of modern phonograph discs and tapes. When used properly, the Phase Linear 1000 will significantly correct these shortcomings inherent in the recording process....The Dynamic Range Expander serves to greatly increase the available dynamic range...The peak restoration system is designed to restore to a significant extent the music peaks that are removed to the peak-limiter during recording...Tracking is designed to closely complement the dynamics of recording studio peak-limiter...The goal of this system is to expand the dynamic range of standard musical material such that the loudest passages will produce levels of 105dB and yet during quiet passages noise or hiss will not be heard (without the 'breathing / pumping often heard with other systems)”
I can tell you from personally auditioning this unit after my tech finished with it, that it's fairly AMAZING! I tested it with a cassette deck that had Dolby B. I recorded a tape without Dolby, then played it back with this unit. It did an 'astounding' job of removing 'tape hiss' without reducing high frequencies like the Dolby did. It worked equally well with the 'Dolby Encoded' tapes. It also did a great job reducing the hiss in 'FM Stereo' broadcasts, so much so that it will be hard to listen to FM without it.

 Pioneer DT-570 Audio Timer. These were originally designed for setting your system to record scheduled FM radio shows and Album rock. They also can be used to turn your system into a Super-Hi-Fi Alarm clock radio and / or just as the ultimate and really cool digital clock.
This is from a collection of these that took us a long time to amass. Many of these will erratically change / advance the time after they've been on for 1 or 2 hours. This is one of the few out of the many we get that keeps time perfectly and was checked over a 1 week period. Entire unit was disassembled and cleaned inside and out, including the internal switches.  All functions test perfectly. ü  Our technician has completely gone through and 'Certified' this unit.

ü  Everything was completely tested and benched.

ü  Most I/O jack and fader solder joints re-flowed for trouble-free service. 

ü  Tape monitor and Attenuator switch locks checked for proper function. All 'latched' switches locking fine.

ü  All original LED's functioning.

ü  We then tested both channels with a test tone and O-scope, analyzing both channels with and without each independent effect.

ü  It was then cosmetically detailed inside and out.

ü  All functions tested for perfect operation.

ü  All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves!

ü  Checked with oscilloscope. No power supply hum of any kind. Floor noise measured >-60dB It's dead silent!

  ü  Only minor cosmetic issue is a bit of scuffing (white marks) along a few of the bands in the center of the left channel. Nothing particularly distracting (see photos above). Overall, still looks fabulous and sounds great!

The Pioneer, SG-90 Dual...

 Okay, so here's the deal...this EQ is NOT for someone purchasing their 'first EQ', or someone who does not have a comfortable knowledge of 'signal flow' and 'signal routing'. It is fairly complicated to operate, and easy to get into a 'no sound' situation. Just a friendly warning. If you are familiar with EQ, and / or are willing to tackle a challenging learning curve with this on, then you should be fine.
